Multi-Dimensional Challenges
Multi-Dimensional Challenges
With ever sharpening hindsight we can see that cosmic construction – the evolution of the Cosmos – from the very beginning to the present time progressed through three epochal phases or dimensions. It began in a nonphysical, continued in a physical and arrived and resulted once again in a nonphysical phase/dimension with the emergence of mind and consciousness.
Scientists now talk about “before” the Big Bang, though they can offer only theories to explain this dimension and source of cosmic evolution. The physical phase/dimension is where science feels comfortable and indeed able to explain much of it in great detail, certainty and accuracy. The supraphysical (above the physical) begins with the emergence of human mind and consciousness. Consciousness emerged as the most powerful force on our planet yet it is without weight or volume. Consequently, consciousness is without properties that science must have to weigh, measure and formalize it in an appropriate mathematical equation.
This is an existential challenge because the problems we must solve to survive and thrive on this planet contain complex physical and supraphysical components that are systemically and organically bound. Because the physical and supraphysical components in such multi-dimensional challenges are inseparable they don’t lend themselves to purely political, scientific or technological solutions. For that reason the solutions for multi-dimensional challenges lie outside the domains of our existing institutions.
